SEATAC, Wash. — A 19-year-old woman is dead after she was hit by a wrong-way driver in SeaTac.
The crash happened on northbound Interstate 5 near the South 188th Street exit at around midnight.
Troopers said a 46-year-old Puyallup man driving a Jeep Liberty was heading southbound in the northbound lanes when he hit a woman driving a Ford Taurus head-on.
The woman died in the crash.
The Taurus then caught fire and became engulfed in flames.
The man, whose Jeep was totaled, was taken to a hospital. His condition is not known.
The northbound lanes were blocked for about three hours.
Troopers are investigating. They have not said if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
Members of Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, Tukwila Fire Department, South King Fire & Rescue and Medic One responded.
