The attacker punched the victim repeatedly while she fought back and screamed. According to investigators, he told the woman he was going to kill her.
A man on the trail heard her screaming for help and went to investigate. The attacker then ran off.
The victim had severe injuries to her face, and a broken arm.
Detectives say the attacker is a white man, mid 40's, about 5 feet 10 inches, medium build. He was last seen wearing a green and brown sleeveless shirt and either cargo pants or shorts. He had a tattoo on one arm and his shoes were left behind at the scene.

Detectives think the man is likely homeless and wasn’t wearing shoes before the attack.
Investigators have been out on the popular trail with dogs trying to search for evidence.
They are asking for the public's help. They say the man is dangerous. They think the attack was sexually motivated and they want him caught before he hurts someone else.
