KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. — A 55-year-old mother was arrested after two bodies were found inside her Central Kitsap home on Thursday afternoon.
Kitsap County deputies said at 1:35 p.m., deputies and detectives were called to a mobile home park in the 5900 block of Mountain View Road after medics found two people dead inside a home during a welfare check.
Earlier in the day, the mother reportedly walked into St. Michaels Medical Center in Silverdale for an evaluation and told hospital staff that her children had died at her home, officials said. Staff reported it to 911, and medics went to her home for a welfare check, finding the bodies.
Deputies responded and went to the woman’s home, where a search warrant was served. Investigators questioned the woman, who they said was cooperative, and then arrested her.
The woman was booked into the Kitsap County Jail for two counts of second-degree murder, authorities said. She is expected to appear in court on Friday.
No information regarding the victims’ gender or age was given.
Officials believe there is no danger or risk to the public and are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Detective Eric Adams at 360-337-4998 or Detective Dave Meyer at 360-337-5617.
