WENATCHEE, Wash. — Fire officials with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources say they have a fire burning near Horse Lake Road in Wenatchee under control after issuing Level 1 and 2 evacuations.

Chelan County Emergency Management said the fire was burning at about 10 acres, as of 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities said they will continue to monitor the fire throughout the night.

Residents at the end of the pavement area on Horselake Road are under level 2 evacuations. Level 2 evacuations indicate there is a significant risk in the area. Residents should be ready to leave at a moment's notice.

The Sleepy Hollow Heights and Broadview Heights neighborhoods are under level 1 evacuations, meaning residents should be aware that fire danger exists and be prepared to evacuate, authorities said.

Firefighters are battling winds of about 7 mph. Additional crews are being called in to help contain the flames.
