WEEKEND WEATHER: Partly to mostly sunny despite light rain showers, temps warming

SEATTLE, Wash. — Higher pressure is bumping the storm track northward today and over the weekend. The high pressure will dry and warm western Washington over the weekend and on Monday.

Each morning will start with varying low clouds and fog. Clearing mid-morning will bring a sunny weekend with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

The ridge of high pressure flattens and weakens Monday, allowing more cloud cover to roll in ahead of a weak disturbance. The disturbance is going to move into Canada

and create a cloudier day for Seattle and surrounding areas. Spotty drizzle or a light shower is possible off and on throughout the day Tuesday under cloudier skies.

Most areas will remain dry on the second day of the work week, but the chance will continue Tuesday afternoon.

Another passing ridge of high pressure slides in, bringing pleasant October weather back mid-week. Wednesday and Thursday will be sunny in the afternoons, with highs in the mid to upper 60s. The next chance of rain is developing for Friday, October 9th.
