We’re starting the day with chilly temperatures, clear skies, and areas of fog. Low clouds and fog will linger through the morning, and even as they begin to break up, some mid- and upper-level clouds will move through. It won’t be until after lunch that we really start to see more sunshine. Highs will reach the upper-60s and lower-70s.
Summer officially comes to an end tomorrow at 5:05 PM, and the weather will start to look a little more fall-like as the week goes on.
Late tonight, a weak weather system will brush by the area and increase the onshore wind. It won’t bring much, if any, rain on its own, but a Puget Sound Convergence Zone will likely develop. That could bring some light rain or sprinkles to parts of King and Snohomish Counties late tonight into Tuesday morning.
We’ll dry out as Tuesday goes on, with some increasing sunshine during the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper-60s.
Wednesday brings another weak system. For most of the region, that will mainly mean more clouds, although there could be a few sprinkles or light showers at the coast and in a few spotty areas inland. Otherwise, it will be a mostly cloudy and cooler day, with highs in the mid-60s.
The bigger change arrives Thursday. Clouds and rain will increase and continue into early Friday, with temperatures dropping into the upper-50s and lower-60s. Showers taper off Friday, and we’ll turn drier Friday afternoon and stay that way through the weekend.
The weekend looks pretty typical for late September, with morning clouds giving way to afternoon sunshine and highs in the mid-60s.
