An area of low pressure offshore is spinning cloud cover over western Washington today. A few spots of patchy fog will clear quickly, and skies will gradually reveal more and more sunshine through the day ahead. The low is on a path to California, avoiding Washington while on its way south.
High temperatures today through Wednesday will be near normal in the upper 50s to low 60s.
A weak ridge of high pressure overhead is keeping dry, sunny weather around through Wednesday. While the ridge weakens, a trough tracking into British Columbia will increase clouds Thursday. By Thursday evening, rain showers may develop for some places, especially east of I-5.
Cooler air will be pulled across western Washington, taking high temperatures down to the 50s and 30s to low 40s for daily low temperatures Thursday through the weekend.
Higher pressure will keep Friday and Saturday dry; skies will be cloudy to mostly cloudy. The next round of rain is modeled to arrive Sunday morning.
