SNOHOMISH, Wash. — From Oct. 3 until Nov. 1, 2026, the Snohomish River will be closed to fishing, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) announced Sunday.
According to WDFW, despite coho fisheries exceeding pre-season expectations, the “terminal marine” and “freshwater” areas in the lower Snohomish River are not at the same level.
WDFW also notes that low water conditions could be interfering with coho migration, and coho returns may not meet expectations.
The closure will start from the “mouth to the confluence of the Skykomish and Snoqualmie rivers,” according to WDFW.
