KIRKLAND, Wash. — The YMCA of Greater Seattle is responding after they say officers used force when detaining a teen boy.

The incident happened at the Kirkland location on Sept. 5.

Kirkland officers received a call about a theft in the area and the YMCA said the suspect reportedly went into the teen center.

The YMCA of Greater Seattle said the incident was caught on surveillance cameras.

Officials with the organization said two officers entered the facility to detain a 14-year-old boy.

The video shows the teen being pulled through a doorway but it doesn't show the moments before he was brought out. The YMCA told KIRO 7 there was a physical confrontation that started in a hallway that didn't have cameras.

Their cameras do not record audio.

“The Y is calling for disciplinary action and improved protocols in the future to ensure safety and respect for all,” said the YMCA of Greater Seattle.
