SEATTLE — The University of Washington is set to welcome visitors to its iconic Quad to see the cherry blossoms this spring.
The 29 cherry trees are expected to reach peak bloom in the third week of March, according to UW arborist Sara Shores.
Warmer temperatures and mild weather are all factors when determining when the cherry blossoms will reach peak bloom.

Peak bloom refers to at least 70% of the blossoms emerging. Cooler temperatures, drier weather and lighter winds will keep the blossoms on the trees longer.
If you are unable to visit the Quad, the UW offers a live webcam and a virtual tour with photos from the campus.
Visitors are also invited to follow @uwcherryblossom on Twitter.
The UW expects large crowds on campus and although masks aren’t required, some people may opt to wear face coverings.
Visitors are also asked to not climb the trees or shake the branches.
