A U.S. service member who has been missing since Iran shot down a fighter jet has been rescued, according to two U.S. officials who spoke early Sunday on condition of anonymity ahead of an official announcement, according to the Associated Press.
It comes after a frantic search-and-rescue operation. The crew member has been missing since Friday, when Iran downed a U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle.
A second crew member was rescued earlier.
This is a developing story.
