Uber announced it is cutting 10% of its workforce, which amounts to roughly 3,300 roles.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) from the Washington State Employment Security Department, about 100 of those roles are in Seattle.
According to the notice, the beginning date of separations is set for November 2.
Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi told staff in a company email that the taxi and delivery firm had expanded quickly.
Cuts affect both managers and non-managers, and Uber said it plans to combine some of its smaller teams into larger groups.
The company also said it plans to gather more employees in hubs like New York and San Francisco.
