16-year-old dies after shooting outside of Eisenhower High School in Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash. — A 16-year-old who was shot outside a Yakima high school has died, according to the Yakima Police Department.

They were one of two teenagers who were shot outside of Eisenhower High School Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of Zaepfel Stadium around 3 p.m. after there was some type of altercation between two groups of teenagers.

Both victims are students at the high school.

The other victim, an 18-year-old, was in serious condition as of Tuesday evening, according to Yakima police chief Matthew Murray.

Officers arrested a 15-year-old suspect Tuesday evening.

Police say there are no other suspects at large.

Chief Murray says the shooting appears to be gang-related.
