Two people arrested after breaking into abandoned West Olympia mansion on Halloween

Two people were arrested Halloween night after breaking into an abandoned mansion in West Olympia, according to Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders.

Sanders said in a Facebook post that deputies responded to the property after the office received calls about a suspicious car near the residence.

Once at the house, deputies found that the car belonged to two people who had broken into the house through a window.

The suspects were arrested with the help of K9 Igo. According to the sheriff, deputies searched the 14,000-square-foot property and found damage to the house’s wiring.

The suspects were booked into the Thurston County jail for residential burglary.

According to Sanders, the burglary was not the only Halloween call. Sanders said deputies responded to “nonstop” DUI collisions, disturbances with guns, domestic violence, and numerous structure fires.
