According to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, a pursuit ended when shots were fired along southbound I-5 near the Thurston and Lewis County border Sunday morning.
The office told KIRO 7 that while law enforcement pursued a suspect across county lines, shots were fired before the suspect’s vehicle was spiked.
The suspect tried to run away before police finally arrested them.
The office says that while the suspect fled, another shot was fired, but no one was hit during any of the shooting.
Two lanes of southbound I-5 remain blocked near Exit 88, but the office says it is working to clear the scene.
Washington State Patrol says Lewis County is investigating.
This is a developing story; more information will be provided as it becomes available.
