MASON COUNTY, Wash. — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) says two fishermen stranded near Holman Flats on the South Fork of the Skokomish River were rescued on Friday morning.
A Coast Guard helicopter spotted the two at around 6:35 a.m. after they were reported missing the previous day.
They were able to start a small fire and shelter in place while rescuers searched, MSCO said.
The two were airlifted to Sanderson Field to be treated and did not sustain any injuries.
