BRITISH COLUMBIA — A Canadian commercial truck driver faces drug importation and trafficking charges after border officers seized 52 packages of suspected cocaine and heroin at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon Port of Entry in British Columbia, said the British Columbia Royal Canadian Mounted Police (BC RCMP).
The BC RCMP says charges against 47-year-old Khushwinder Singh Gill were approved in BC Provincial Court on Oct. 19, 2026, following an investigation by the RCMP Federal Policing Pacific Region (FPPR).
The seizure occurred on Oct. 22, 2025, when Canada Border Services Agency officers searched a commercial truck and trailer crossing the border. Officers say they located the suspected controlled substances inside two duffle bags, which contained 52 brick-shaped packages.
Following the border discovery, Gill was arrested by the RCMP FPPR under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The BC Provincial Court approved four criminal charges against Gill, including single counts of importation of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. They say Gill also faces counts of importation of heroin and possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking.
