SEATTLE — A multi-vehicle crash along southbound I-5 near the Ship Canal Bridge shut down multiple lanes during Wednesday’s morning commute, causing over 6-mile backups extending into Shoreline.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
Just before 7 a.m., WSDOT reported around 6 miles of traffic backups extending into Shoreline.
According to Trooper Rick Johnson with the Washington State Patrol, the crash is a semi / two car collision with no major injuries.
Trooper Johnson confirmed that tow trucks would be arriving shortly, and crews were working to get this cleared as quickly as possible.
