BELLEVUE, Wash. — Seattle-based DSquared Hospitality Company anticipates laying off 83 employees around Dec. 20 as its T-Mobile and Benaroya Hall dining accounts transition to national service providers, according to a company news release.
DSquared Hospitality Company shared the news in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing. The company said 62 full-time and 21 part-time employees are expected to be affected by the account changes.
DSquared is working with Aramark to facilitate opportunities for 57 of those employees to be rehired, according to the release.
Sidekicks Pub at T-Mobile Market Hall in Bellevue is expected to continue operating under the incoming provider, according to DSquared spokesperson Lissa Gruman.
“Our understanding is that Sidekick Pub will continue operating under the incoming provider,” Gruman told MyNorthwest.
However, the collaboration extends beyond Sidekick Pub, according to the DSquared company website.
“At T-Mobile’s Bellevue location, our teams develop menus for four onsite fast-casual restaurant concepts that feature weekly rotating menus, international cuisine, healthy options, and Pacific Northwest favorites featuring locally sourced ingredients,” according to the DSquared website. “Our partnership also extends to grab-and-go cafes and convenience retail solutions, pantry management, and includes full staffing and onsite management of their in-house Starbucks location. In addition, we are able to service all meetings and events on campus grounds.”
The filing lists affected positions including managers, baristas, and chefs, among various others.
DSquared focuses on venues and catering business
DSquared said it will continue operating its Seattle venues and offsite catering business while pursuing new clients. Its venues include 4105 in SODO and The Hall at Fauntleroy in West Seattle.
“While changes to our corporate accounts present a significant transition for our team, we have a strong foundation to build on,” DSquared Chief Operating Officer Reed Haggerty said in the release.
The company said supporting affected employees remains a priority during the transition, including helping them pursue potential jobs with T-Mobile’s incoming provider.
