EVERETT, Wash. — Community Transit is seeking public input on preliminary designs for the Swift Gold Line, a proposed 15-mile bus rapid transit route in Snohomish County. The project will connect downtown Everett, downtown Marysville, and Smokey Point in Arlington.
The agency is hosting an online open house and survey through Nov. 15, 2026. Snohomish County residents ages 18 and older who complete the survey can enter a sweepstakes for a $200 prize.
Preliminary designs detail station layouts, sidewalk configurations, and proposed bus lane arrangements alongside potential road and property impacts.
Community Transit says the proposed design includes dedicated center-running transit lanes in select areas to keep general traffic moving in existing lanes. Visitors can attend the online open house to view animations and images illustrating how the center-running lanes and stations would integrate into current roadways.
Swift bus rapid transit service features 10-minute bus arrivals on weekdays, with service every 15 to 20 minutes during early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Buses stop at all designated stations for approximately 10 seconds, allowing passengers to board through all three doors.
They say the system relies on transit lanes, signal priority technology, and real-time arrival signs to maintain service timing.
Passengers can pay using an ORCA card or purchase tickets with cash or payment cards at station kiosks before boarding.
In addition to the online survey, community members can submit feedback by emailing engage@commtrans.org or calling (425) 353-7433.
Construction on the Swift Gold Line is scheduled to begin in 2028. Service is projected to open as early as 2031.
