Suspects shot, injured during pot shop robbery

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Two of several robbery suspects were shot and are now in jail after robbing a pot shop Thursday night in Spanaway, deputies said.

At about 9:36 p.m. police were called to an armed robbery at Natural Blessing Cannabis, located at 17204 Pacific Ave. S. Shots were fired.

A person called 911 and said their business had been robbed by four or five men with guns and wearing hooded jackets and masks.

According to law enforcement, an employee of the pot shop told deputies that the men pointed guns at them and stole money and marijuana. But during the robbery, an employee was able to get a gun and fired shots at the robbers.

When deputies arrived, the armed robbers had already fled the scene.

Not long after the armed robbery, two 19-year-old men showed up at a local hospital with gunshot wounds, deputies said.

Those men were arrested and booked into jail for first-degree robbery after being released from the hospital.

Deputies are searching for the other robbers.

The investigation remains ongoing.
