TACOMA, Wash. — Police arrested a 41-year-old man on Tuesday in connection with a 42-year-old woman found shot to death last week in Tacoma.
Just after 4:40 a.m. on Sept. 22, officers were called to South 47th Street and South Pine Street, where shots were reportedly heard.
When police arrived, they found a vehicle crashed into a pole and facing east on South 47th Street, authorities said.
The driver, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined the woman had been shot at an apartment complex parking lot in the 4500 block of South Puget Sound Avenue. They also determined she had driven from the parking lot and died from her injuries, crashing into a pole.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Soohui Kim and ruled the cause of her death as a gunshot wound to the chest.
The homicide suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of first-degree murder.
