Stolen car chase reaches speeds of 110 mph

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A stolen car chase in the South Sound ended in a violent crash Monday night.

Washington State Patrol said it started near Martin Way in Thurston County with the stolen Camaro reaching speeds of up to 110 mph.

The person who was hit is OK.

The chase ended when the stolen Camaro crashed, hit a victim and then a pole near the South Hill Mall in Pierce County, troopers said.

The driver of the stolen car got out and fled but was stopped by a Pierce County Sheriff’s Department police dog, which bit the suspect.

The driver was taken into custody.
