SEATTLE — Starbucks is upping its food and drink offerings.

The coffee giant rolled out Hippeas Monday, made from organic chickpeas.

In addition to soy and coconut milk, Starbucks reports they will make available their own almond milk.

Starbucks plans the initial start on September 6, 2016, in company-operated and licensed stores in some regions, and then will go nationwide at the end of the month.

"We created our own almond milk recipe to complement our hot, iced and Frappuccino® blended beverages," said Yoke Wong, a manager on Starbucks beverage R&D team.

Both offerings have either come from shareholders’ request or the company’s platform for crowdsourcing customer and barista suggestions.
