Pierce County — The Puget Sound Auto Theft Task Force’s multi-agency operation led to six stolen vehicles being recovered and three arrests in the Lakewood area on Wednesday.

The following vehicles were recovered:

  • Ford F-450 stolen from the Tacoma area.
  • Hyundai Accent stolen from the Tacoma area.

  • VW Passat stolen from the Tacoma area.
  • Nissan Sentra stolen from the Parkland/Spanaway area.
  • Chevy Impala likely stolen but has not been reported yet.
  • Lincoln MKX stolen from the Tacoma area.

Tips to protect your vehicle include removing or hiding all valuables, locking your car, not leaving keys in your car, not leaving your vehicle running unattended, using anti-theft devices, and parking in well-lit areas.

“Auto thefts are a regional issue,” said Sgt. Jeff Carroll of the Puget Sound Auto Theft Task Force. “We have detectives from multiple agencies within King and Pierce Counties working together to aggressively investigate prolific thieves and get people their stolen vehicles back.”

According to the PSATTF, two stolen vehicles fled from officers, who were not able to chase the vehicles since motor vehicle theft is not a pursuable offense.
