KING COUNTY, Wash. — Warning signs were posted at Medina Park Beach warning people to avoid contact with the water after a sewer overflow Friday.
Officials with King County said the heavy rainfall Friday caused an overflow at the Medina Pump Station, which is located at Northeast 8th Street and 81st Avenue Northeast.
They also said the station was operating at full duty, but the rain exceeded the pump station’s capacity causing an overflow at 2:30 p.m. to about 6:30 p.m.
Officials notified health and regulatory agencies and will test the water over the next several days as a precaution to protect the health of the public.
For additional information, people should contact the county’s Natural Resources and Parks.
