SEATTLE, Wash. — Sewage overflowed near Matthews Beach on Sunday afternoon, according to Seattle Public Utilities.
The public has been asked not to launch from Sail Sand Point or swim from our shoreline while the beach remains closed.
Seattle Public Utilities has posted closure signs in the area and said they will remain in place for seven days.
Open Boating will be closed both today (Sunday, 9/27) and tomorrow (Monday, 9/28). Sunday afternoon racing is canceled.
The department said it will contact race participants.
