DES MOINES, Wash. — A major crash on 16th Avenue South at South 260th Street in Des Moines early Friday caused a power outage.

Puget Sound Fire first tweeted about the crash at 3:38 a.m.

The crash did not appear to cause a major power outage, but traffic lights were out at the intersection.

Puget Sound Fire, South Kitsap Fire and Rescue, Medic One and Des Moines police were at the scene for what Puget Sound Fire called a “serious motor vehicle accident.”

Crews were working on a utility box that was damaged in the crash.

Photos from the intersection showed only one car was involved, which ended up in the middle of the intersection after hitting a utility box.

The car has since been towed from the scene.
