We haven’t hit 80° in Seattle yet this September, and our chances of doing it are dwindling. We’ll have a few spots that could reach 80° today and Thursday, but the window for 80-degree weather gets smaller quickly as we move deeper into September.
The numbers really show the trend: 80-degree temperatures become much less common as we get into the second half of the month and early October.
We’re off to a chilly, calm start this morning with mainly clear skies. That’s allowing some patchy fog to form, especially in the usual spots. It could briefly slow down your morning drive, but it will clear quickly.
Then we’re in for a really nice day, with sunshine and light offshore wind helping temperatures climb into the mid-to-upper 70s. A few spots could reach 80°.
High pressure and light offshore wind stick around tomorrow, making Thursday the warmest day of the week. We’ll have more upper-70s and a few lower-80s.
After that, the wind turns more onshore Thursday night into Friday. That will bring back some morning clouds Friday and both weekend days, but we’ll still get plenty of afternoon sunshine. Highs will be around 70°. Not bad!
And the longer-range trend is cooler. Temperatures next week settle into the upper-60s and lower-70s, with dry weather likely continuing for at least another week.
