LACEY, Wash. — All SB lanes of I-5 near Mounts Road in Pierce County are blocked following the Amtrak train derailment that killed at least three people, and injured at least 70 others Monday morning.

The Washington State Department of Transportation is advising drivers who have to go southbound on I-5 to use alternate routes. WSDOT says 60,000 drivers use the area of I-5 each day.

WSDOT officials say the area of I-5 will be closed for the rest of Monday, and that drivers should prepare for a multi-day closure.
