Seattle Torrent unveil 2026-27 schedule, expanded PWHL playoff format

SEATTLE — The Seattle Torrent announced its 2026-27 regular-season schedule Friday, with 13 home games set for Climate Pledge Arena as the Professional Women’s Hockey League enters its fourth season.

The season begins Dec. 5 and runs through April 18. The league will feature a record 180 games and a new conference format, with 12 teams split into Eastern and Western conferences.

Seattle will compete in the Western Conference alongside Detroit, Las Vegas, Minnesota, San Jose and Vancouver. The Torrent will play 30 regular-season games, including 18 conference matchups and 12 games against Eastern Conference teams.

“We’re excited to get started on our second season in Seattle and build on the momentum and foundation we established in our inaugural year,” head coach Christine Bumstead said in a statement.

The PWHL is also expanding its postseason format. Eight teams, four from each conference, will qualify for the Walter Cup Playoffs. The playoffs will feature best-of-three first-round series followed by best-of-five conference finals and Walter Cup Finals.

Seattle is scheduled to appear twice on ION’s “Game of the Week” broadcasts as part of the league’s national television package. All 180 regular-season games will also be available on the PWHL’s YouTube channel and at the league’s website.

The league’s Takeover Tour will return for a third season, expanding from 16 to 24 games. Seattle will participate in four tour games, with locations still to be announced.

Flex ticket packs went on sale Friday through Ticketmaster. Single-game tickets will become available Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. PT.
