The Storm players and coaches traveled the parade route in Emerald City Trollies as fans holding signs cheered them along.

The parade left from the Space Needle and made its way to Thomas Street and First Avenue North at the edge of the Seattle Center grounds.

Next came a rally with the team and staff at KeyArena hosted by play-by-play announcer Dick Fain and color analyst Elise Woodward.

With lights lowered, coach Dan Hughes, support staff and team members entered the stage, announced one-by-one to much fanfare and cheering. WNBA 2018 MVP forward Breanna Stewart and guard Sue Bird, brandishing the team’s trophy, entered last.

Coaching, support staff and players talked about what the team meant to them and what it took to get to the championship, as well as the road to past championships, thanking the city and fans for their support. There was also a Q&A session with coaches and players led by Fain.

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan also spoke, saying she had a message to Washington, DC, and Mayor Muriel Bowser: "Pay up! We want to see you in Storm colors!"

As part of a friendly wager between the two mayors, Bowser will wear a Storm jersey and will send Durkan items from local women-owned businesses Lee’s Flower and Card Shop, CIVIC Vodka, Baked by Yael cakepops and half-smokes from Ben’s Chili Bowl, according to the Seattle Times.

Before Durkan exited the stage, team mascot Doppler appeared with a street sign while Durkan announced that a road outside KeyArea will now be named Seattle Storm Way.

This is the Storm’s third championship win.
