PUYALLUP, Wash. — A 28-year-old Seattle man was killed after being hit by a train Tuesday, according to the Puyallup Police Department.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 8:37 p.m. after receiving reports of a train versus pedestrian incident in the 2200 block of West Stewart Avenue.
Witnesses say the man was walking on the tracks when he was struck by the train.
The train reportedly sounded its horn in an attempt to get the man’s attention, but he continued walking towards it.
Police say the train’s emergency brakes were used, but were unable to stop in time to avoid hitting the man.
