OLYMPIA, Wash. — A Seattle man has been charged with threatening to kill the Washington governor.
Nathaniel Foster checked himself into the hospital on the night of July 18.
According to court documents, he told a caseworker he planned to take a bus to Olympia, look for weaknesses in security at the governor’s mansion, and kill Bob Ferguson.
The documents also state that Foster allegedly said he would kill staff or security if necessary.
The case against Foster was filed on Aug. 3, and he failed to appear at an Aug. 17 arraignment. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Seattle police arrested him about eight days later for an unrelated incident.
Prosecutors requested bail be set at $50,000 and asked that Foster have no contact with the governor.
