A Seattle man was arrested July 29 after he arranged to meet up with whom he thought were two girls aged 13 and 14 years old.
According to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office in a video posted to Facebook, the 29-year-old man ended up in handcuffs in Poulsbo after he arranged to meet the two girls.
However, the children the man thought he was communicating with were actually Kitsap County Sheriff’s Deputies receiving training from a non-profit organization, The Innocent, which educates police on how to investigate and prevent child sexual abuse.
According to the office, in an online chat, the detective posing as a 13-year-old girl received explicit messages from the man including discussion of sex.
After two weeks of exchanging messages, the suspect arranged to meet what he believed were teenage girls in Poulsbo.
At a bus station in Poulsbo, the suspect was arrested on suspicion of communication with a minor for immoral purposes, sexual exploitation of a minor, and two counts of attempted child rape, according to the office.
