Seattle driver arrested after hitting 5 cars, driving through front doors of business

SEATTLE — Police said a man was arrested in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood Monday after crashing his car into five vehicles and driving through the front doors of a business.

Around 9:30 p.m., several calls were made to 911 about a series of collisions involving the driver of a white Toyota sedan.

Police said the driver first hit a vehicle near Fourth Avenue and Cedar Street, and then hit vehicles at Broad Street and Denny Way as well as at Second Avenue and Battery Street.

Officers arrested the 51-year-old man, who investigators said appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, alcohol, and marijuana.

The driver eventually came to a stop after crashing into the front doors of a business at Second Avenue and Denny Street.

After taking him to Harborview for a blood draw, police booked him into the King County Jail for investigation of multiple counts of hit-and-run, DUI and operating a motor vehicle in a negligent manner.

Several drivers the man hit sustained minor injuries.
