SEATTLE — A new report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows gas prices in the Seattle-area are well above the national average.
In April, gas prices in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue were an average of $3.345 per gallon.
According to the Bureau, the prices were 14.8 cents higher than last April and 15.6 percent more than the national average of $2.894 per gallon.
While gas prices in Washington are high, the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed electricity and natural gas prices in the state remain low.
Seattle-area households paid an average of 11.2 cents per kWh in April – 17 percent below the national average.
For natural gas, Seattle-area households paid an average of $1.018 per therm in April – about 1.5 percent below the national average.
