SEASIDE, Ore. — Seaside capped off its annual “Halloween Happenin’s” weekend with a massive splash Sunday afternoon.

After a weekend full of festivities, Seaside residents and holiday visitors gathered for an incredible sight -- the dropping of a 1,500-pound pumpkin from more than one hundred feet in the air.

According to Seaside Downtown Development Association’s Kerri Lambert, the 1,500-pound pumpkin was lifted over 100 feet by a Ness Campbell Crane and Rigging crane, before being dropped straight into a pool full of rubber ducks and beavers.

The rubber duck and rubber beaver launched farthest away from the pool, when the pumpkin came crashing down, earned their owner a $400 prize, according to Lambert.
