MUKILTEO, Wash. — The search continues for a hit-and-run driver involved in a deadly collision in Snohomish County earlier this week.
It happened on the morning of August 11 along SR 525 in Mukilteo.
Jeff Woods, a project manager for a remodeling company, had just left home on his motorcycle for a job site in Kirkland when a minivan hit him.
Woods died at the scene. The minivan driver left the vehicle and ran off.
“Jeff would touch the hearts of people on a daily basis – everybody he met,” said Tyson Dunn, owner of Tyson Remodel.
Dunn said he got a call from Woods’ wife shortly after the crash.
“It was awful,” said Dunn.
Dunn says Woods was a beloved friend, husband, and father to seven kids.
“Loved his kids, always took care of them, always there for them, trying to do more for them,” said Dunn.
Dunn has set up a GoFundMe account to help the family cover costs as they deal with tragedy.
“Just getting it out there for them because Jeff was the breadwinner for the family.”
Dunn says he’s staying in touch with Woods’ wife, who’s now hoping the other driver involved in the crash will be caught.
“She’s not doing great. She wants justice because it was a hit-and-run,” said Dunn. “It’s horrific. It wasn’t just a fender bender in a parking lot – they literally killed a man.”
WSP tells KIRO 7 they are actively investigating and following leads from on-scene witnesses.
