Seahawks sign Robert Henry Jr. after Joe Mixon signing falls through, place Jacardia Wright on IR

SEATTLE, Wash. — The hunt for another running back continues, with Robert Henry Jr. joining the Seahawks Tuesday -- just hours after the Seahawks changed their mind on signing veteran Joe Mixon.

Henry, who the Seahawks signed off the Washington Commanders’ practice squad, will join a fairly banged up Seahawks running back room.

With rookie running back Jadarian Price on the injured reserve list and Zach Charbonnet not quite ready to return after tearing his ACL last season, Henry will most likely split carries with Emmanuel Wilson, George Holani, and Velus Jones Jr.

Wilson and Holani had a strong showing at last week’s game against the San Diego Chargers, but the lack of depth continues to be an issue for the Seahawks.

Regarding Henry, the former Commander played in three preseason games this year and rushed for 105 yards. Henry also had a touchdown, according to Seahawks.com.

The Seahawks also signed running back Dontae McMillan. McMillan, who signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad, spent time playing for Chief Sealth High School, East Michigan, and, most recently, the Baltimore Ravens. During his time with the Ravens, McMillan ran for 109 yards throughout three preseason games, according to Seahawks.com.

To clear room for Henry and McMillan, the Seahawks waived safety AJ Finley, and placed running back Jacardia Wright on practice squad injured reserve.
