SEATTLE — The Seahawks will be without starting QB Sam Darnold this Sunday in the division game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Head Coach Mike Macdonald announced Wednesday that Darnold suffered a quad injury toward the end of the Monday Night Football game in the Hawks’ 34-17 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Macdonald also said that Darnold cracked a rib on the second play of the game Sunday night.

Backup quarterback Drew Lock will start in his place. Lock is coming back from a wrist injury, and third-string quarterback Jalen Milroe was slated as Darnold’s backup.

In his lone start this season against the Cardinals in Phoenix, Lock threw for 235 yards and 3 touchdowns; 155 of those yards and all 3 touchdowns were to Seahawks star wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Seahawks play Arizona at Lumen Field Sunday at 1:25 p.m.
