BREMERTON, Wash. — A 19-year-old Seabeck man is accused of drunkenly crashing his mother’s car into a mailbox, losing control and getting stuck in a wooded embankment in Bremerton.
Kitsap County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a stuck car on Tracyton Blvd. NW just before midnight on September 18,
When deputies arrived, the driver was gone, but a witness said they saw a man walking out of the woods. A deputy ran the vehicle’s license plate and determined the registered owner’s address.
According to the sheriff’s office, the driver initially claimed a friend was driving the SUV, but later admitted he had been driving his mother’s car without her permission.
Field sobriety tests showed evidence of impairment, and a breathalyzer examination indicated a blood alcohol concentration of nearly twice the legal limit.
The teen now faces charges of driving under the influence, hit-and-run, and driving with a suspended license.
