Salt & Straw releases Thanksgiving-themed ice cream

WASHINGTON — Salt & Straw is adding a sweet spin to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The ice cream company just released five Thanksgiving-themed flavors. Each one is a unique combination of sweet, savory and salty.

“We made Thanksgiving dinner into ice cream. All of it. Warm, buttery rolls. Sweet, maple-roasted squash. Savory turkey and smoky bacon. Bright, tart cranberries. Spiced pumpkin pie. Five courses, each with its own delicious reason to save room,” their website states.

Are you brave enough to gobble them up?

Parker House Rolls with salted buttercream: Toasted rolls slathered in whipped buttercream, then folded into salted butter ice cream.

Pumpkin pie with almond croissant streusel: A pumpkin-spice custard layered with swirls of pumpkin pie filling and crunchy almond croissant clusters.

Cranberry shortbread tart: Coconut cream flavored with orange zest, vanilla, cinnamon and salt, then layered with cranberry jelly and pieces of cranberry tart.
