A King County woman says she is cutting out late-night home deliveries after an Amazon driver tried opening her front door.

The woman says what should have been a simple delivery turned into a creepy experience.

“It startled me; I was scared.”

Denise Angelone says she got that scare while waiting for a late-night Amazon delivery.

“About 11, I hear the door handles jiggle,” said Angelone.

Security video shows the delivery driver pulling up in the driveway, then going onto the front porch.

Wearing what appears to be an Amazon vest, he puts down two bags of groceries, then immediately tries to open the front door.

“I checked the Ring and I see that he actually tried to open the door and then he goes and takes his picture to show that he dropped off the groceries and he leaves,” said Angelone.

Angelone says she called Amazon right away.

“They’ve contacted me multiple times. They have the video, they are doing their private investigations – so I definitely feel that Amazon is taking this seriously,” she said.

Angelone says while it’s unclear what the driver’s intentions were, the incident is a sobering safety reminder.

“Definitely making sure that my doors are locked and not having nighttime deliveries.”

Amazon told her it believes the driver was subcontracted through another company.

KIRO 7 reached out to Amazon about the incident, but did not get a response.
