Renton party turns violent after person stabs another with broken bottle

RENTON, Wash. — A person in Renton broke up an argument at a party by smashing a bottle and stabbing another person in the leg early Friday morning.

At approximately 5:34 a.m., Renton Police Department (RPD) officers responded to the reported stabbing in the 400 block of Williams Avenue S, RPD announced.

Several people who knew each other were in attendance at the party when the argument broke out.

During the argument, one person broke a bottle and stabbed another in the leg, according to police.

Renton K9 search of the area came up empty

The victim sustained minor injuries and was ultimately transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers remained on the scene and had probable cause to arrest the suspect for assault charges.

RPD noted that the suspect left the scene before officers arrived. Officers then performed a K9 track of the area.

In an update roughly more than an hour later, RPD confirmed the K9 track was unsuccessful, and the case will be taken over by investigations for charges.

No suspect is in custody as of this reporting.
