Remains of 2 people found in bags in West Seattle identified, police say

SEATTLE — The King County Medical Examiner has identified the remains of a man and woman found in bags June 18 along the West Seattle waterfront.

Austin Wenner, 27, and Jessica Lewis, 35, were both shot to death.

Their remains were found along the 1100 block of Alki Avenue Southwest, police said.

Teens posted a TikTok video of the discovery at Duwamish Head on June 19.

Investigators said they don’t believe this case is connected to any ongoing cases in the Puget Sound area.

The investigation remains ongoing.
