Prison escapee caught Monday afternoon in Spokane

CONNELL, Wash. — A minimum-security prisoner escaped from a facility near Connell in eastern Washington on Monday morning and was apprehended soon after.

Joshua Michael Lanter, 29, was discovered missing from the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center early Monday morning during routine checks.

Officials believe Lanter escaped by climbing over a fence.

Lanter was captured in Spokane early Monday afternoon.

Lanter was expected to be released in September 2022 for convictions in King and Snohomish Counties for robbery, burglary, malicious mischief and taking a motor vehicle without permission.

Coyote Ridge Corrections Center is a minimum-security facility located in the 1300 block of North Ephrata Avenue in Connell.
