Prepare for mid-week rain followed by warmer temperatures

SEATTLE — Sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s on Monday. By the evening hours, high clouds will begin streaming inland as the ridge of high pressure begins to slip southward.

With an atmospheric river pointing into Canada, the sunny weather will give way to clouds late Monday into Tuesday.

The ridge keeping us dry Monday will be too weak to keep the north coast of Washington and areas north of Seattle completely dry on Tuesday and Wednesday.

At least, temperatures will not get as cold overnight for western Washington Tuesday morning.

Expect overnight lows in the 40s with cloudy skies Tuesday. Light amounts of rain along the coast and brushing over Washington’s north interior through the day and into Wednesday morning.

We aren’t completely done with dry weather, however! A quick warm-up with more sunshine is expected Thursday and Friday. High temperatures will rebound in the upper 60s to low 70s, with Friday being the warmest day.

The weekend will cool quickly back into the upper 50s to low 60s, with areas of rain developing Saturday.
