Police: Man impersonating real estate agent arrested after credit cards stolen from Lacey home

LACEY, Wash. — Lacey police arrested a man who stopped by a home for sale, claimed to be a real estate agent and allegedly stole credit cards from the homeowner.

Police said the incident occurred last week, but did not say in what area it happened.

The suspect reportedly stopped by the home, asked to measure something and was allowed inside, police said.

While the man looked around, police said he stole several credit cards and shortly after, he went to an auto parts store and used the cards to buy more than $1,000 worth of items.

However, an officer in the area confronted the man after police were made aware of the theft.

Police said the man ran away, but the officer caught and arrested the man.

The man was booked into jail for burglary, criminal impersonation, forgery, obstructing a law enforcement officer and for a warrant, police said.
