SEATTLE — Homicide detectives are investigating a deadly shooting in Seattle’s High Point neighborhood overnight.
According to a release from the Seattle Police Department, dispatchers first received reports of a gunshot victim in a car that was heading to Seattle’s Industrial District at 12:17 a.m.
Officers arrived at the intersection of 1st Avenue South and South Forest Street to find a 28-year-old man who had been shot in the chest.
Despite lifesaving efforts from both police and Seattle Fire Department medics, he died at the hospital.
Witnesses told police the shooting happened at an address along Southwest Graham Street in the High Point area. A friend then drove the victim to the Industrial District location where police found him.
Detectives from the Homicide Unit will work to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
